Discontinued perfumes are the absolute thorn in my side. Actually I should reword that. There are two discontinued perfumes that have become two thorns in both of my sides. Every time their names are uttered or typed, a black cloud of doom descends. It’s a cloud of self-disappointment, because I am unable to fix this problem. We’ll get to that, and those thorns, in a minute.

In my role as a perfume waffler, a job I seem to have adopted is ‘fragrance matchmaker’, and I quite like it to be honest. It’s in my DNA to be helpful and I can remember a lot perfumes, so it makes me feel like a sort of olfactive Robin Hood coming to the rescue and with my merry band of scented solutions. Whether it’s in my DMs, family lunches, evenings with friends or at the school gates, the single most consistent question I am ask is:
